Bourgogne-Franche-Comté
Ougney La Roche is located in the east of France, in the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region.
This region has plenty of interesting places and activities to do as a couple or with the whole family: along a turbulent river, on the picturesque forecourt of a Romanesque basilica, touring a bustling town, in the mountains or in the cellar of a wine grower.
Sports enthusiasts can have fun behind the wheel of a bike or motorbike. Something for everyone!
Unspoilt nature of the Doubs
No river as extravagant as the Doubs! From its source at Mouthe, where it rises at 945 m; to the highest natural waterfall in France "Saut du Doubs" over "our" stretch of the Doubs - navigable for 200 km.
Via the princely city of Montbéliard to Vauban's citadel at Besançon. Via the Saône, and the Rhône finally heading for the Méditerranée.
Other sights
The Ougney La Roche area also has plenty of other attractions, including:
8 Unesco World Heritage sites
The rebellious and fearless city of Besançon and Dijon, city of the Dukes of Burgundy
Eurovelo 6, the cycling route from the Rhine basin to the Atlantic Ocean. The easiest French véloroute, which passes on our doorstep
Ornans: in the same breath Gustave Courbet, or "art of a free spirit"
The "Grand Randonée 59" that passes over our little bridge, or the GR 213A? Briefly to Compostella?
A stone's throw from here: the open-air museum of Comtoise houses in Nancray; a beautiful 15-hectare site, with silent witnesses of stone, wood and craftsmanship.
