The house and its pool are full south-facing with views across the river valley. All of the ground floor rooms have French doors which lead directly to the terrace around the pool.

Ground floor

The hallway has a cloakroom with a stone hand basin and an adjacent WC. Dining room, well equipped kitchen, living room with comfortable sofas and easy chairs and an impressive brick-built open fire for romantic evenings... there even is a piano in the house! Master-bedroom (stays cool in summer) with en-suite bathroom and queen size bed. “Snug” with sofa-bed to have a quiet read/snooze or sleeping space for a child/baby.

First floor

Mezzanine (closed with sliding doors)- this large area is accessed via a traditional rustic oak staircase; this space has a sofa-bed and easy chair – it can provide another bedroom area, play space for the children or simply another living area. Two more bedrooms - one with a double bed and the other with twin/double bed. Bathroom - with bath/shower and a separate WC. The upstairs bedrooms have airconditioning.

Outside

Large partly covered dining terrace, with its ample table and chairs and barbecue to one side, it is the perfect spot to enjoy those “en-plein-air” meals (a good Cahors wine to go with) next to the pool. The 10 x 5 m pool and its surrounding terrace, being full south facing, is an absolute sun trap. For some shade, or a tranquil game of pétanque, try the front courtyard, or, for the more energetic, some table tennis in the traditionally-styled open hangar with its massive oak beams to the side of the house; the hangar also offers covered parking for 2 cars.

The house which has a gated entrance to the courtyard, is set within a ¾ acre site of a mixture of field and woodland and lies at the end of a lane leading up to the village.

Around

Several castles and fortified houses made up the Lapopie fort and dominated the village. Below the fort, the streets of the village, closed by fortified gates, have preserved numerous old houses whose stone or half-timbered facades date mostly from the 13th to the 16th century. The two main towns in the Lot region are Figeac and Cahors, and a little further in the Aveyron department, Villefranche-de-Rouergue, all within a 40-minute drive. With its long history, the region is rich in attractions.

Activities

Many leisure activities are available: hiking and horse riding on the many marked trails, cycling around the peaceful villages, or canoeing on the white waters of the Célé River and even water skiing (the plan of Cajarc water). Bird watching, trout and freshwater fish fishing, photography and painting.
