Mas les Peupliers is located in the beautiful provençal village of Cotignac ("le petit St Tropez"). The gîte has a charming provençal style and consists of two bedrooms, living space, kitchenette and bathroom allowing you complete privacy. The two bedrooms (both double beds) are on the same floor and separated by a sliding door (French shutter stype). You will also have access to the swimming pool for a bit of relaxation and also a tennis court, for those wanting to keep fit! The gîte is a separated space to the rest of the house. The kitchinette inside the living space includes breakfast-making facilities (toaster, kettle, cafetière) and a fridge. You also have access to the veranda and secondary kitchen which comes equipped with a hob, microwave, oven, sink and washing machine which you can use for 7 euros a wash (washing powder and softener included). Sheets and bath towels are provided, but please remember to bring your pool and kitchen towels.
OTHER THINGS TO NOTE
There is a cleaning fee of €50 to be paid upon arrival in cash.
We can also offer continental breakfast for 10 euro per person
Pool and tennis court are at your full disposal (no time restrictions) however please remember to bring your own tennis rackets (balls).
Pet(s) live on property - We have an adorable German Shepherd who loves to play but also keeps to himself and is very well trained.
Some spaces are shared.
WHILE YOU ARE HERE
Although our main house is connected to the gîte via a communal "veranda" we like to give our guests full privacy and their own space but remain on hand should you need anything. As we are on the same land, we will sometimes be sitting at the pool, doing a bit of gardening, stone or woodwork,, or simply wandering around, but please don't take any notice of us. Although it's important to feel comfortable with this - as we like our guests to feel at home - just know that as long as general cleanliness and safety rules are observed, we are very laid back and easy going so you can feel completed at ease.
Cotignac is a lively little village, with lots of little artisan shops, restaurants, cafés and beautiful countryside. In the summer there are many markets and festivals in the village square. And of course, with the many surrounding vineyards, the options for wine tasting are endless!
It is also within an hour's drive of many other places and attractions making it perfect for day trips. Some things you can do in the area
- Go to Marseille for a boat trip (1.15 h) - recommend the website "Clickandboat"
- Laze around the beach clubs of St Tropez (1.15h)
- Spend the day canoeing in the "amazing" Gorges du Verdon and Lac Ste Croix (1hr)
- Hike up the Ste Victoire - or even paragliding for the adventurous amongst you (1hr)
- Go shopping in AIx-en-Provence (1hr)
The Provence Verte website is great for exploring more about the area. I'm also very happy to answer any questions via email.
Cotignac is about 1h15 drive from Marseille airport and 1H30 from Nice. I would recommend hiring a car as there is so much in the area to explore and buses aren't always frequent. The gîte is a 25 minute walk from the city centre or just 5 minutes by car. There is space for parking on the premises.
