La Source with own privat pool

Our renovated farmhouse was originally built in the 19th century. It is now very well equipped, spacious and luxurious. From the terraces you have a very nice view on Montcabrier and the surrounding hills and mountains  

The terraces ( 3) are equipped with garden chairs, deckchairs and tables. A barbecue and parasol are also available. The house gives you all the privacy you need; it is free standing on a property of 10 000m2 of land and wood. Fences surround the whole property. Save when you have children, or a dog  

There is also a very nice new private swimming pool 8×4 m  with a nice terrace and solar shower. Around the swimming pool is a fence, which can be closed. It is only for you and your family. (Lots of privacy). You don’t have to share it with other rentals . From the swimming pool you also have very nice views.  

Several walks, both long and short, start at the farmhouse. You can walk parts of the old pilgrims’ route to Santiago de Compostella in Spain – an old Pilgrims’ chapel still exists near Montcabrier. At the back of the house, 1000 meter. There is also a famous ruine, The ruine of a chateau of Pestillac

The living room (45m²) has its original oak roof beams and exposed stone walls (“pierre jaune”) and a big original fireplace with a large Norwegian wood-burning stove. You have the use of a satellite flat screen TV ( you can receive more than a 100 channels)and a stereo-set with CD player.  

Part of the living room is a large kitchen very well equipped kitchen with refrigerator, stove with grill and hood, a coffee machine, water cooker and dishwasher etc.  

There are three bedrooms. The first double room is fitted in local ‘Quercy style’: a cupboard and double box spring bed (140cmx200cm) and it has an oak floor.  

The second bedroom also has a double bed (180cm x 200cm) and a cupboard. There is also a bedroom with two single bed (80cmx200cm) and a double bed (140cmx200cm)as well as plenty of storage.  

There is also a laundry room in wich you have the use of a washing machine, a 200-litter freezer and an iron. The white bathroom is fitted with a bath, shower, basin and bidet. There is also a separate toilet.  

Under the house there is a garage. In the cellars under the farmhouse, you can also park, for example your bikes etc..

600 kms south of Paris lies the unspoilt beautiful countryside of the QUERCY, Le Lot, Dordogne. Leisure opportunities abound. Peace and quiet. Natural and man-made lakes for boating and swimming. Signposted rambles and horse trails – all are to be found in this very attractive region. 

The department of the Lot is in the Quercy. This is a region bordering the Perigord to the north and the Auvergne to the east. South of the Quercy lies the Armagnac region. 

Our gîte is north of the river Lot in an area called ‘haute Quercy’ and boasts a great variety of landscapes and culture. The climate is influenced by the Atlantic, the Pyrenees and the Massif Central, which leads to warm summers and mild winters. The holiday season can last from the beginning of March to the end of October. Autumn is an especially lovely time of year. 

The valley of the Lot has both beautiful natural attractions and a lot of culture. It is one of the oldest inhabited areas in France. In 1999 prehistoric caves were discovered here. 

The region is teeming with bird life, and you can find thousands of different insects and flowers. If you look carefully you’ll find many different fossils. 

These impressive surroundings guarantee a nice, relaxing holiday in the most beautiful part of France.
