Le Manoir is situated amidst beautiful nature and built against a hill in the valley of the Borrèze (a tributary of the Dordogne). Together with four neighbouring houses, the domain forms the hamlet La Forge. Only 5 km to the southeast, in the valley of the Dordogne, lies Souillac. The town is situated at an exit of the A20 motorway, easy for those who already have a whole day trip behind them. And convenient for those who during their stay also want to discover the surroundings of Brive-la-Gaillarde in the north, or Cahors in the south. Souillac is centrally located between the major attractions of Rocamadour, the caves of Lascaux, Sarlat-la-Canéda and Collonge-la-Rouge. All in all, you will have the opportunity to visit, during your holidays, the valley of the Dordogne, the valley of the Lot and the valley of the Vézère.
The valley of the Dordogne crosses three departments: the Lot (the Quercy), the Corrèze and the Dordogne (the Périgord). Le Manoir is located in the Lot, but only five kilometres away from the department of the Dordogne. The region is one of the most beautiful and beloved of France and offers the ideal combination of a varied landscape, a mild climate, an abundance of culture and an excellent regional cuisine. Le Manoir is therefore the ideal starting point for a visit to the many impressive castles, museums, prehistoric caves and medieval towns.
For walkers and cyclists, the hills around Le Manoir are a challenge. We have already worked out a number of walks starting from Le Manoir itself. The bicycle tours are in the making. You can store your own bike safely and dry in our barn. Who wants, can rent a bike in Souillac.
Do you golf, or do you just want to try it? At only 2 km distance there is a beautiful (but according to connoisseurs difficult!) 18-hole golf course.
And one of the classics that many of our guests can't stop talking about: a canoe trip on the Dordogne. You choose the distance and duration yourself. Holiday fun guaranteed!
