Maison Passerose, adults only, in the south Vendée

L'Etournerie is a small rural campsite with 6 pitches, a wooden chalet and three rental accommodations, situated on the south slope of a hill, with rustic farm grass. A place where people can enjoy space, tranquility and beautiful nature in the wonderful climate of the Vendée, close to the Atlantic Coast. The view is amazing!

Our camping and rental accommodations are for adults only.

We have three gîtes available for guests: Maison Passerose, can be rented from half March tot end of October and sleeps a maximum of three guests. Pets on request. 
Maison Tulipe, can be rented from mid April to November and sleeps a maximum of two guests. Pets on request. 
Maison Violette, can be rented all year and sleeps a maximum of two guests. Sorry, no pets allowed. 

To all our guests we offer: free wifi, swimming pool (late May to mid September), bread service (in summer), many tourist leaflets, folders with walking and cycling routes. Meals and breakfast are available.

On our farm cats, chickens and geese are present. The cats and chickens walk all over the terrain. There are also peacocks walking around, beautiful! Furthermore, there is a good chance that you will see birds of prey and deer. 

We are located in a small hamlet with only 1 other house, on a cul de sac, not visible from the road.

Pets are welcome on request for an additional fee.

Our gîte is situated entirely on the ground floor and has only 1 step into the master bedroom. It is situated in an old barn which has been fully renovated.

Maison Passerose consists of a living - dining room with open plan kitchen, which has a complete inventory, a hob, coffee machine, electric kettle, microwave and a large fridge with small freezer compartment.

All furniture is comfortable and ample for 3 people. A satellite flatscreen tv (Dutch channels which mainly show US or UK films and series in English) and a dvd-player are available. You can also plug in a usb memory stick. We have provided dvd's and English books.

The master bedroom is beautifully furnished and has a kingsize bed (180 x 200). The second bedroom has a French double bed (140 x 190). This is suited for 1 person.

The bathroom has a large walk in shower, wash-basin and toilet.

Outside Maison Passerose you will enjoy a large garden and terrace and there is a passage to the camping and pool. Garden furniture, a parasol and two sun loungers are provided. It is a beautiful place for al-fresco dining. 

We have farm animals wandering in their meadow: chickens, roosters and geese. You have a lovely view over a small valley or over the hydrangeas, which are huge! We also have cats on site that live with us. 

A secured wifi-network provides internet.  

Smokers, please refrain from smoking inside. Dogs are allowed. The terrace is enclosed.

Mareuil-sur-Lay is only 3 km away. Here you can find facilities such as doctors, pharmacies, dentists, bakery shops, a butcher, a supermarket, petrol station, banks, post office etc.
Behind our farm and camping, the lake is 300 meters away. It is ideal for fishing (permit). 

Other surrounding places are : La Roche-sur-Yon. This town was founded in 1804 by Napoleon. It is also the capitol of the Vendée. It has several (large) supermarkets, a hospital and of course other shops.

Luçon is 12 km south and has a nice centre and a beautiful cathedral that was built in the 12th - 14th century, attached to the Benedictine convent, that was built in the 7th century. Cardinal Richelieu (known from "The three Musketeers") was bishop here from 1606 to 1623.
Le Jardin Dumaine is also definitely worth a visit. There are many large supermarkets in Luçon. It also has several vets, a hospital etc.

The Vendée is perfect for making many diverse trips and for many activities. The beaches are close by, but also the Venise Vert, an area consisting of green polders with numerous canals. Here you can take boattrips, but it is also a lovely place for walking or cycling.

The Vendée has a lot to offer, some of which are:
Beautiful cities: Nantes, Poitiers, Angers, La Rochelle. 
Boattrips: both on the ocean as on the canals in the Poitevin Marais.   
Medieval spectacles: Puy de Fou. 
Natureparks: Marais Poitevin, La Barre de Monts. 
Seaside towns: Les Sables d’Olonne, La Faute sur Mer, Jard sur Mer, L'Aiguillon sur Mer. 
Saltpans tours are possible. 
The islands: some can be reached by road or bridge, some can not: Noirmoutier, Île de Yeu, Île de Ré, Île d'Aix
Good food and wines, Lighthouses , Fishing and Golf.
