Elk van onze gites is ingericht en uitgerust met een uitzonderlijke standaard om ervoor te zorgen dat onze gasten alles hebben wat nodig is voor een ontspannen vakantie.
Les Chardonnerets is gelegen op meer dan 2,5 hectare grond en beplante tuinen, omgeven door velden en bossen. Er is een groot zwembad met zonneterras, speeltuin en petanquebaan.
Les Chardonnerets is gelegen nabij Brantome en Perigueux en op slechts 4 km van de versterkte marktstad Thiviers. Het is een ideale uitvalsbasis om de hele Dordogne te verkennen of gewoon om te ontspannen bij het zwembad!

The Périgord Vert is famous for its beautiful scenery, pretty villages, beautiful castles and prehistoric caves - all of which you can discover as you explore the region.
Within easy reach of Les Chardonnerets are the historic towns of Brantôme, Périgueux and St. Jean De Côle - which has the official honor of being one of the 'most beautiful villages in France'.
The Périgord-Limousin Natural Park offers a hilly but not mountainous landscape ideal for hiking, cycling and horse riding. It is also home to a myriad of wildlife and rare birds. The 4 rivers that cross the region provide excellent canoeing and fishing opportunities. Nearby inland beaches offer water activities, including water skiing with cable.
The Dordogne is known as the gastronomic center of France and the Périgord Vert, in particular, is rich in regional products such as truffles, foie gras, duck and goose, walnuts and of course escargot! These can be bought at the weekly local markets or consumed in the many excellent restaurants nearby.
We are a family of five, with three young children and we had the most enjoyable and relaxing holiday and would happily have stayed on longer.
Nick and Jane are the perfect hosts; they are so genuinely friendly, hospitable and helpful without being intrusive at all. A really lovely couple. They know the local area so well, had good suggestions for days out and activities nearby, and even phoned local restaurants to make bookings for us.
My husband and I tend to be the sort of people to always try somewhere new on holiday but we will definitely be making a return trip to Les Chardonnerets!
Whether there is 2 of you or 20. Set on a lovely country lane, the lawns are immaculate, lovely gravel drive for plenty of cars. To the front of the gites there is a lawn with boules area. Through a gate takes you to a secure, fenced pool set amongst a large field with plenty of trees. Each gite has a more private garden with table, chairs and BBQ. The owners, Nick and Jane Lawton, could not have done more for us. Nick arranged archery, canoeing and some shooting. They are very knowledgable on the area, the history and where to go. They took us all to the local artisan market which was wonderful. The gites are very well equipped and very comfortable. So peaceful and relaxing. This place needs to be on everyone’s list.
We stayed at Les Chardonnerets with our 3 children for two weeks in August, we had a fabulous time, the Gites are well equipped, the pool is fabulous, the trampoline and table tennis table were big hits with the children. Nick and Jane were brilliant hosts helping us to book activities and recommending places to go. The surrounding area is beautiful, Brantome was our favourite place the canoeing was lots of fun......the lake just 10 minutes away was brilliant for the children. We will definitely be back.
They are attentive without being intrusive; nothing at all is too much trouble; they can't be faulted. The gites are clean and well equipped. The beds and furniture are comfortable and well chosen. The grounds are very well planned and maintained and the pool area is wonderful. We highly recommend these gites.
The accommodation was beautiful, clean and there was plenty to do around the gites. Out the back there is a nice pool, trampoline, a big lawn with a badminton net, a play area for kids and much more!
Jane and Nick were very welcoming and accommodating and they really made us feel at home. They prepared lovely food and drinks for us, showed us the best places to go and were generally very helpful! Fantastic hosts!
As for the location, it was only a short drive from Limoges airport and other towns like Perigueux were very accessible by car.
I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a quite holiday in rural France, and hopefully I will be returning at some point in the future!
