You can see many old villages and the Pyrenees in the distance. Perfectly maintained holiday home, spotless, tastefully and fully furnished, nothing is missing.

Pleasant, nicely heated swimming pool that is maintained every week.

Nice covered terrace so you always have shade and don't have to lug around parasols.

A plus is the enclosed garden so that the dog cannot go on an adventure and remains clean due to the pebble paving around the swimming pool.

We especially enjoyed the total peace and quiet and the beautiful view, we were lucky with two weeks of summer weather before the end of May.

In the Herault - Aude department you will pass the countless majestic peaks of the Pyrenees from south to north. Those who prefer to spend a day on sun-drenched beaches can also go to the Aude. You will find picturesque fishing villages, islets, lakes and more than 50 kilometers of colorful coastlines.

In these beautiful landscapes you will continually discover the rich and eventful past, of which the many castles and abbeys, such as Fontfroide, are silent witnesses. The Cité of Carcassonne, recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site, is a grand masterpiece. This intact medieval fortified city, with its 52 towers and double walls, is an absolute must for every visitor.

Also recognized by UNESCO is the Canal du Midi. This impressive example of hydraulic engineering and architecture cuts 240 kilometers through different landscapes. The route takes you past numerous bridges and aqueducts, and the canal with its many locks offers a beautiful and relaxing way to explore the Aude. You can also rent a boat.

Just take a look at the harbor of Homps, a 10-minute drive from your villa. Moreover, delicious, gastronomic cuisine beckons at every stop, which of course also includes mouth-watering wines.

Names of wine regions such as Minervois, Corbières, Fitou and Limoux bubbles also ring a bell far beyond France and are - rightly - the pride of this department. Here you can buy nice affordable wines for not too much.

The landscape is inviting in more than one sense. You can also fish, sail or surf here, for example on the Lac de Jouarres, with a beach and restaurant, between Pepieux and Homps, a 10-minute drive away, and/or kayak on the mountain streams of the Pyrenees. Or explore the beautiful unspoilt nature reserves behind Siran towards the Montagne Noir and Minerve on foot, on horseback or by mountain bike.
