Maison Zeelande

Maison Zeelande is only 750 from the Mediterranean beach.
Located in the Residence Les Jardins du Rivage villa park and located directly on the lake called Lac de Salses/Leucate. This lake is directly connected to the Mediterranean Sea. The house (area 58 m2) has a corner garden (area 72 m2) and, in addition to the great view over the water, offers a beautiful view of the Pyrenees.

Both the house and the terrace are located on the south. If you have a boat or surfboard or SUP, you can moor close to the house. You sail from Maison Zeelande through a wide passage to the port and then you can sail into the Mediterranean Sea without any obstacles.

The distance to the beach is 750 meters. A supermarket, various shops, cafes and restaurants are also located 750 meters away. The nice center of Le Barcarès is within walking distance and offers various entertainment options and tourist markets.

Cycling tours can be made from the house on flat cycle paths in all directions. For mountain tours, you cycle the first 20 km on flat roads.

The capital of the Pyrénées-Orientales department is Perpignan and is only 20 km away, but a visit to Spain is also possible with a travel distance of approximately 45 km.

At the Villa Park there is a reserved parking space behind the house, but a 2nd car (or your boat trailer) can also be parked within the fence (with barrier) free of charge. As a guest of Maison Zeelande you have access to the two free open-air freshwater swimming pools belonging to the Villa Park. The 1st swimming pool is 50 meters behind the house and the 2nd swimming pool (with children's pool) is 150 meters away.

The house, built in 2001, is fully equipped for 6 people, non-smoking and equipped with air conditioning and WiFi.

Ground floor:

The living room has a sofa and a china cupboard. In the living room there is also a sleeping area with a wall unit from which a 2-person bed can be found. bed (160x200) can be folded. 2 separate hotel beds of 90x200cm can also be placed in this room so that you can sleep separately. This sleeping area can possibly be closed off by means of an insulated folding wall, which guarantees privacy.

The dining room has a large dining table with 6 chairs. Furthermore, this house has a bathroom with rain shower & sink combination, a separate toilet, a separate kitchen with built-in appliances (recently updated) such as dishwasher, washing machine, combination microwave, fridge/freezer, induction hob, radio. 

Furthermore, the house is equipped with:Wifi via fast fiber optic internetand a flat screen TV with Chromecast for receiving your own channel package or streaming service and there is also a separate DVD player.

The terrace with awning and L-shaped sheltered garden together measure 72m2 and are equipped with garden + sun loungers, oval table and large permanent barbecue.

Floor 1:

Has a spacious closed bedroom (15 m2) with a double bed. bed (180x200) with plenty of hanging and cupboard space.

Floor 2 (Mezzanine):

Has two separate 1-pers. beds (80x190) - very suitable for children up to 10 years old.

The Residence "Les Jardins de Rivages" is located at the passage from the Mediterranean Sea to the "Etang de Salses-Leucate". All Villas are suitable for permanent residence and the Park is spacious and luxuriously furnished. There are even two free freshwater swimming pools (one even extended with a separate children's pool) that only residents can use. You have your own permanent parking space directly behind the house. A 2nd car or boat trailer can also be parked within the fenced off with a barrier. This barrier can only be opened with the wireless remote control that is made available to you.

The Sandy Beach is only a 5 to 6 minute walk away and is accessible via a pedestrian path, tunnel and residential area. You can also drive there by car and use the free parking spaces at this lesser-known "Intermediate Beach", where there is almost always space even in high season.

A small shopping center is a 5-minute walk away and is located on an inland harbor called Nautica, which borders the Great Lake. Here you have a separate bakery, wine and gift shop and supermarket. There are also 2 Cafés, a Restaurant and a Pizzeria. If you walk another 5 minutes you will reach the larger center "Cap Coudalère", which also has a harbor on the lake. Here are 2 more bakeries, a bookstore, a supermarket and also several restaurants, pizzerias and cafés. If you want to go by car, you will find a large Super-U market about 3 km away in the center of the village of "Le Barcarès" where you can also refuel cheaply. This center also has various cafés, restaurants, butchers, fishmongers, ice cream parlors, etc. The Office de Tourisme is also located here.

As indicated in the "Groceries" section, there are several cafés and restaurants within walking distance. In July/August there are free performances every evening at the harbor at "Cap Coudalère" by singers, artists, bands and there are also (night) markets. The Grote Zeehaven is less than a 10-minute walk away, where various activities are organized every evening. In this port you can rent a boat or jet ski during the day or take a tour boat. There are also opportunities to go on a diving trip or visit the fish auction. You will also find "De Lydia" on the Greater Beach, this is a large boat that houses a Casino and a Restaurant. Nearby there is also a disco, restaurants and cafes. Free entertainment is also provided during the season at various locations throughout Barcarès and even the Barcadance (open-air disco) can be visited free of charge for young and old. During the day there are markets in the Center every Sunday, Wednesday and Friday ALL YEAR ROUND. During the season, these can also be found at other locations on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday. Fortunately, "MAISON ZEELANDE" is located in such a way that it is not inconvenienced by all activities.

There is a Sailing School 100 meters away where you can register to learn to sail with Catamarans, Sailboats type 420 & 470 and for children with Optimists. There are 6 tennis courts within 150 metres. Many more facilities in the area. E.g. at 250 meters there is a mini golf course with 18 holes. There are cross-country skiing and skiing options within 60 km in the Pyrenees from December to +/- March.

Port-Barcarès is an excellently located seaside resort, with the Mediterranean Sea with extensive beaches on one side and the Salses-Leucate inland lake (7000 ha) on the other. Together a party for lovers of sun, beach and water, with all the associated sports, games and activities.

In Port-Barcarès you will find several restaurants, an Office du Tourisme, a harbor where the sailing masts point up in harmony and further away the fishing boats float next to the fish auction where fresh fish is traded on their way to your plate. And just above Port-Barcarès is Port-Leucate, also a very active seaside resort in the summer, where you can do it all again.

For a change, visit the villages in the hinterland and the small markets; try a regional dish with a Vin de Pays in a local restaurant. Take a trip into the Pyrenees, as far and as high as you want, and enjoy the mountain atmosphere. Finally, what you could enjoy are the historic cities that you can easily reach from Port-Barcarès: Montpellier, Béziers, Narbonne, Carcassonne, Toulouse, Perpignan and Barcelona

Maison Zeelande is fully air-conditioned and has a living area of ​​58m2 and a corner garden + terrace of 72m2 and is located directly on a connecting lake. Boats sail across this lake via the harbor to the Mediterranean Sea or to the 7,000 hectare Great Lake behind it. A boat can be launched nearby (free of charge) and moored in front of the house during the day without hindering the tour boat or other shipping traffic.

From the terrace you have a direct view of the intermediate lake and the Pyrenees with the 2,785 m high mountain "Le Canigou". The terrace with awning, garden and sun lounger set faces south and receives direct sunlight even in winter. Fortunately, the crosswind provides pleasant cooling in the summer. in the evening this wind dies down and you can sit quietly in the garden and enjoy the view until the late hours.

The garden surrounds the large terrace with the permanent barbecue. There is even an outdoor shower behind the house. The garden flora consists of 5 different types of Palms, a Bougainvillea, Trumpet Flower Plant, Bird of Paradise Flowers, Oleander, Carnations, etc. and has computer-controlled irrigation.

The Languedoc-Roussillon has a very PLEASANT CLIMATE.

Summers are sunny and dry, but fortunately there is always a cooling breeze during the day.

Winters are mild and it almost never freezes.

The coastal strip of the sub-province of Pyrénées Orientales in which Maison Zeelande is located has a special microclimate created by the influence of the Mediterranean Sea. This means that it is virtually windless at night and you can sit on the terrace late at night even in the early and late season.
