La Garenne is a beutifully renovated gîte on the 300 year old Le Roudier estate, perfect for guests seeking privacy, nature and relaxation in the French countryside. Originally the main farmhouse, this property benifits from a large, cool, quiet living room with TV, WiFi and plenty of comfortable seating. Beams and stone walls have been retained, which adds to the ambiance and character. Direct access from your private terrace which has charcoal BBQ, outside furniture and shady pergola, goes straight onto the shared pool area. Fantastic uninterupted panoramic views of the surrounding Dordogne countryside are only bettered as the sun sets, providing a perfect backdrop across the valley.
Set in over 30 acres of parkland, you can enjoy exploring the gardens and surrounding fields and woods. Full of local wildlife and a birdwatchers paradise.
La Garenne is a beautifully renovated property that formed part of the original farmstead. A large living area with TV and WiFi can be found just next to the well equiped kitchen. There's plenty of comfortable seating in the cool living room and the original beams and stone walls give the place an authentic charm.
A spacious family bedroom downstairs with large double bed and bunk beds is served by an italien tiled shower room and toilet. A twin room and a additional double bedroom upstairs are served by a second bathroom with a shower. A character-full gite with lots of original features including an old bread oven set into the wall downstairs. Outside, the beautiful well sits beneath established trees, which provide a perfect shady spot for breakfast alfresco.
One of our favourite gites as it provides a space that guests can embrace and enjoy the ambiance of french living in this delightful corner of the Dordogne.
Nearby lies the charming bastide town of Eymet, known for its lively weekly market, welcoming terraces and excellent restaurants. Bergerac, famous for its historic centre, vineyards and international airport, is also just a twenty-minute drive away. This makes Le Roudier easily accessible and an ideal base from which to explore the region.
The Dordogne offers a rich combination of nature, culture and gastronomy. Walking and cycling enthusiasts can enjoy quiet country roads and scenic trails directly from the gîte. Many activities are available in the area, including canoeing on the Dordogne or the Dropt rivers, golfing, horse riding and visiting impressive castles, caves and medieval villages.
The region is also renowned for its culinary traditions. Local markets offer an abundance of regional specialities such as foie gras, walnuts, cheeses and wines. Those who appreciate slow travel, tranquillity and authentic France will find the perfect holiday destination here.
Thanks to its blend of nature, culture and relaxation, La Garenne at Le Roudier is particularly suited for families and or friends looking to enjoy a peaceful holiday in the Dordogne, away from the crowds yet close to everything this beautiful region has to offer.
