Fireworks-free:
Here you can spend the Christmas period and New Year's Eve fireworks-free with your dogs. Here in the French countryside they don't light fireworks and it is just quiet.
From the second week of December there are many cozy Christmas markets in the area. You also have video projections in the Christmas spirit that are played on the churches, very nice to see. In addition, many village centers and residents have illuminated their houses and gardens in an exuberant Christmas atmosphere.
We do everything we can to ensure that everyone feels welcome and is looking forward to a week (or more) on holiday in France with their dog(s)! If you encounter any problems during your stay, your host and hostess are available on site to answer any questions.

Châtel-Montagne
The center of the village of Châtel-Montagne is located more than 2 km from Signablin, the hamlet where the domain is located. Here the beautiful 12th century church stands out on a hilltop, with a cemetery and meadows at the foot where cows still graze freely.
There is a restaurant, a post office, the Mairie and the Maison de Patrimoine where tourist information is available and exhibitions are held. There is also a salon de thé and a small local supermarket (épicerie) with a dépot de pain (fresh bread every day from a baker in a neighboring village).
There are also many walking routes from the village, from the domain and from the nearby neighborhood and numerous opportunities for cycling (ATB or road cycling), swimming, fishing or just lazing around and enjoying the beautiful weather, culture and French atmosphere. We have a variety of walking routes ready for you. Both from the domain (short routes of 1 to 2 hours) and in the area (longer routes of 3 to 5 hours), which are also suitable for walking with children.
La Montagne Bourbonnaise
La Montagne Bourbonnaise is a very densely wooded and mainly green area, which is referred to as a mid-mountain area. The largest town in this area is Le-Mayet-de-Montagne. Many forests, beautiful hills and valleys, vast fields towards Lapalisse and hills with vines towards Roanne. An area with a rich history and culture, castles, rivers and waterfalls, towns and villages.

Vichy
This very fashionable city is about 30 km away. It is a beautiful city and wonderful to walk through. There are many thermal springs that are free to visit. There is also a lot of history and there are two different city walks that take you past all these beautiful places. The restaurants, the casino, the opera, the promenades, the spring water springs, all things you should not miss!
But you can also take a canoe up the river Allier, to the hypodrome and watch the horse races or laze on the "city beach" of Vichy. Of course there is much more to do in the nearby area, this is just a small list.
There are several tourist offices (Office de Tourisme) in Le-Mayet-de-Montagne and Vichy, where you can get a lot of information.
