Normandy is, of course, much more than just the WWII Landing Beaches, ranging from the high falaises (chalk cliffs) on the coast to the inland areas criss-crossed by rivers and streams. Normandy is the same size as Belgium, with rugged coastlines and vast plateaus. Our site is located at the top of a falaise, overlooking the valley of the Durdent river and Lac de Caniel, with its water park. Half an hour from iconic Etretat with its chalk arch and Lupin, and cosmopolitan Dieppe, 20 km from the whaling port of Fécamp, and 10 minutes from the idyllic village of Veules-les-Roses with the shortest river in France. An active region, without mass tourism. Peace and activity can easily go hand in hand. On a day trip, you can visit the unmistakable landing beaches from World War II and Mont Saint-Michel. But there are also numerous medieval fortified towns, William the Concurrer's Caen's stronghold, cider and calvados routes, etc.
