La Villa aux Lilas

La Villa aux Lilas is located in a charming village on the banks of the River Lot, in the heart of the beautiful Lot Valley. This region has managed to preserve its charm and authentic character. The holiday home is situated approximately 3 km from Cajarc, where you will find the main amenities.

The detached house dates back to 1880 but has been fully renovated and offers all modern comforts. It is set in a spacious, rocky garden with several levels and enjoys views over the surrounding meadows and the castle.

The house accommodates 4 to 6 guests and has three bedrooms. For larger groups, the separate grangette can be booked additionally. It is located across the road, in a spacious garden with fruit trees, and features its own bedroom with air conditioning and a bathroom with toilet and shower. This increases the total capacity to 8 guests.

Next to the house is a completely private swimming pool for the exclusive use of guests. The pool can be electrically secured and is equipped with sun loungers and a parasol. An open terrace adjoining the lounge provides a pleasant, cool place to relax on warm days. It is furnished with a garden table and chairs, and a gas barbecue is also available. There is a second terrace at the front of the house.

The interior of La Villa aux Lilas combines the character of a house dating from 1880 with modern-day comfort.

The kitchen is open to the dining room and separated from it by a breakfast bar. The kitchen is equipped with a dishwasher, oven, ceramic hob, built-in microwave and a fridge with freezer compartment. The house also features a large living room and a spacious lounge with a fireplace. The rooms have central heating. A washing machine and an ice maker are available in the basement.

The house has three bedrooms. Two spacious bedrooms are located on the first floor. The first, very large bedroom has a double bed measuring 1.40 x 2 metres and a single bed measuring 1.15 metres wide. The second spacious bedroom also has a double bed measuring 1.40 x 2 metres, as well as a baby cot. Both bedrooms on the first floor have air conditioning.

On the ground floor, there is a third bedroom with bunk beds. The villa’s spacious bathroom is also located on the ground floor.

For up to two additional guests, the separate grangette can be booked. It features a comfortable air-conditioned bedroom and a private bathroom with shower and toilet.

La Villa aux Lilas is located in the Lot Valley, just 3 km from Cajarc. According to the owner, the Lot is one of those regions of France that has managed to preserve its charm and authentic character. Cajarc is a welcoming village with all the main amenities and a variety of activities during the summer months. Throughout the surrounding area, you will find charming local markets and inviting terraces where you can enjoy the local cuisine.

Its location close to the River Lot offers plenty of opportunities for active holidaymakers. In and around Cajarc, activities include canoeing, water skiing, fishing and tennis. There are also several riding centres in the area, with horse riding opportunities for children. Within approximately 30 minutes by car, you can enjoy activities such as climbing, swimming, golf, hiking, mountain biking, horse riding, water sports, tennis, mountain activities and gliding.

About 500 metres from the house, on the other side of the River Lot, it is possible to go gliding over the river valley. Experienced divers can also explore the well-known underground caves of La Résurgence de Landenouse, located between Cadrieu and Cajarc.

There is also plenty to discover for those interested in culture, history and day trips. Cajarc and several surrounding villages are situated along the pilgrimage route to Santiago de Compostela, so you may regularly encounter pilgrims while out walking. Numerous castles and picturesque villages can be found within the wider area. Places mentioned by the owner include Rocamadour, Saint-Cirq-Lapopie and the famous Gouffre de Padirac.

The Lot is also renowned for its gastronomy. The region is famous for wines from areas such as Cahors and Gaillac, and there are numerous local wine producers to visit. Regional specialities include goat’s cheese, duck products such as foie gras and magret de canard, vineyard snails and truffles.

The combination of the River Lot, authentic villages, walking and cycling opportunities, water sports, local gastronomy and well-known attractions makes this area an excellent destination for both an active and a relaxing holiday in south-western France.
