Vers-en-vert: 2 charming homes in the Lot with private heated pool and panoramic views

Are you looking for peace, culture and a breathtaking view? Vers-en-Vert welcomes you on a hillside in the beautiful Lot valley. Unwind with the sounds and smells of nature, enjoy the panoramic views from every terrace and relax by the private heated pool. Located in a protected UNESCO natural park (Causses du Quercy), this 6,000 m² domain offers the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

Why choose Vers-en-Vert?

Unique view: A wide panorama over the valley of the Vers river.
Private heated pool: Large swimming pool (11 x 5.5 m, depth up to 2.5 m) with sun terrace, open from May to September. Sunbeds, parasols and an outdoor shower are provided.
Nature and culture: Located in the middle of a natural park; ideal for walkers, cyclists and bird watchers. Rich cultural experience in the many medieval villages in the vicinity.

There are two attractive homes on our domain. La Rustique and La Cabane.

La Cabane(modern & light – 6 people) A modern house with large sliding windows that provide plenty of light and an open view of the valley. Two large wooden terraces with long tables (BBQ), perfect for breakfast and long summer evenings.
La Rustique(characterful & authentic – 4 people) For those who love the charm of the French countryside, furnished with antique furniture.

During the high season, both houses are rented as a whole. The kitchen, dining room and terraces of La Cabane are spacious enough for all guests to use together. Outside the high season it is also possible to rent one house, while the other house is not rented to guarantee your privacy.

The picturesque village of Vers is just 4 km away, or 2 km on foot via a goat path, where the rivers Lot and Vers meet. Here you will find a great bakery, a local shop and the famous restaurant "La Truite d'Orée".

Culture: Visit nearby Cahors (15 km), the famous caves of Pech Merle, or medieval Saint-Cirq-Lapopie. Within an hour's drive you will find several “Plus Beaux Villages de France”, fortified villages with a centuries-old history, perched in the countryside.
Active: Hiking, mountain biking, touring, kayaking on the Lot or wine tasting at the famous Malbec vineyards.
Accessibility: Ideally located 8 hours from Brussels by car or train, or fly via Toulouse or Brive.

RESERVATION AND RENTAL PRICE

Rental is possible during the Easter holidays to the autumn holidays, each time from Saturday to Saturday. The rental prices per week are: 1000 euros in low season; 1500 euros in the mid-season; 2300 euros in high season. The price is lower if only one home is used: 800, 1200 and 1900 euros respectively.

In principle, pets are not allowed unless agreements have been made.

The (mandatory) cleaning fee is 180 euros (100 euros if only one home is used). A sheet set can be rented for 18 euros per person; a towel set at 6 euros per person.

The foregoing are the basic principles; individual deviations can always be discussed.

'La Cabane'

La Cabane is suitable for 6 people. There is a cozy living room with large sliding windows that open onto the terrace. It is a large wooden terrace, partly covered with 2 long garden tables. There is a modern kitchen with every comfort (dishwasher, oven, microwave, refrigerator with freezer). There are also two air conditioners and a wood stove.

The kitchen is adjacent to the terrace and can be opened with a sliding window so that it can function as an outdoor kitchen. On the ground floor you will also find a storage room with extra refrigerator, a bathroom (shower, double sink, toilet) and a separate toilet.

A staircase leads up through the sitting area where there are 3 bedrooms: 2 bedrooms with a double bed (1m80) and 1 room with a bunk bed (2 x 90cm). There is also a sofa bed on the landing. Exceptionally and in consultation, we allow the maximum of 6 people for this house to be exceeded (e.g. friends come over for 1 night and use the sofa bed).

'La Rustique'

La Rustique is suitable for 4 (to 6) people. The house is furnished with antique furniture. This house has a charming covered terrace with a primitive outdoor kitchen (outdoor sink with sink and electricity supply). Via the terrace you enter the rustic living room with seating area and you have access to the open kitchen. The kitchen has the necessary comfort (no dishwasher, but oven, refrigerator, freezer, etc.).

There is also a spacious bathroom (double sink, shower bath, toilet) and 2 bedrooms with double beds (1m40, 1m60). In the living room there is a comfortable sofa bed that can serve as a sleeping place for 2 people.

Additional facilities 

Fiber connection and WiFi, washing machine, dryer, high chair, cot.

Per house: 2 kitchen towels, 1 dishcloth and 2 sponges.

Dishwashing liquid, laundry product, spices, garbage bags.

You can rent a sheet set for 18 euros per person (fitted sheet, duvet cover and pillowcase) and/or a towel set at 6 euros per person (1 regular towel, 1 large towel, 1 pool towel and 1 washcloth).

Down in the villageFresh(4 km) the rivers Lot and Vers flow together. The village has different levels, which gives an authentic appearance. Villagers play a game of petanque by the water and it is a pleasant place to have a picnic. In the village there is a bakery, a good (hotel) restaurant with regional dishes and a local supermarket. For a larger supermarket you can go to the villageSaint Géry-Vers(9km). 15 km away, in a meander of the Lot river,Cahors. This is a pleasant tourist city, capital of the Lot Department, with all facilities and approximately 20,000 inhabitants. There are many markets where you can buy fresh vegetables, fruit, cheese, meat, etc.

The region offers something for everyone. For sports enthusiasts, there is opportunity for hiking, mountain biking, swimming in the river, kayaking, microlight flying, horse riding, etc. in the nearby area. If you want to go out by car, there are beautiful places to visit:Rocamadour, Gramat, Assier, Lacapelle-Marival, Saint-Cirq-Lapopie, Sarlatand the cavesBad luck MerleandPadirac.

For wine lovers, there are numerous wine estates in the area, with 'Malbec' as the typical grape for AOC Cahors.

Accessibility

- Vers is 888 km from Brussels; by car it is approximately 8 hours away (without stops).

- There is a direct (regular) train connection Paris-Cahors (about 5 hours); combined with the Thalys Brussels-Paris, the travel time is approximately 8 hours. The nearest TGV station is Montauban (6h30 from Brussels; 90 km from Vers, 1h by car).

- There are airports in Brive (connection with Charleroi; 80 km, 50' by car) and Toulouse (connection with Brussels and Amsterdam; 130 km, 1h30 by car).
