Puech Blanc - Le Syrah and Le Mauzac - Holiday houses in Midi-Pyrénées (Occitanie) | Vakantiehuizen-in-Frankrijk.be

At Puech Blanc we want you to enjoy your holiday in the south of France and have a wonderful time

Our four beautiful Gîtes and the beautifully restored Pigeonnier are fully self-contained for one couple.

Andrea & Ian warmly invite you to come and stay with us here at Puech Blanc where we have lived since 2001. We have created some beautiful gîtes to ensure you get the most from your special vacation here in the south west of France.

Throughout each week we offer you some fun activities such as wine tasting at a nearby wine-domain, and a special weekly dinner party and we all have a fun evening together. On the other hand if you don't want to join in you will find plenty of space and peace at Puech Blanc to get what you want from your holiday with us.

Discover this fascinating corner of France and fall in love with it just as we did. Visit the medieval 'Bastide' villages, see the Toulouse-Lautrec museum in Albi and just enjoy the charm and tranquillity of Puech Blanc and the Tarn valley.

We choose to be in this part of France because of the beautiful and yet undiscovered countryside of the Tarn department and we are confident it will make the perfect holiday location for you.

To ensure your stay at Puech Blanc is special, we invite our guests to join us for a glass or two of wine at our wine-bar by the pool, or maybe play 'jeu de boules', or have a bbq.

Puech Blanc is a traditional 18th century farmhouse constructed in the local white stone. We are situated among the Gaillac vineyards in the rolling hills on the north side of the Tarn valley.

Surroundings

There are many activities to do around Puech Blanc and

lots of places to discover in the Tarn

Puech Blanc is situated centrally in the 'golden triangle' formed by the medieval market towns of Cordes, Gaillac and Albi. This area forms the heart of the Gaillac wine region which was first established by the Romans, and we are surrounded by vineyards.

Walking and cycling :

Many of our guests find that the stunning surrounding countryside is excellent for walking, cycling and even running! You can set off directly from 'Puech Blanc' into the vineyards which are open for all to wander through, and we have some mountain bikes which you are free to use.

There are two forests close by where you are free to wander so the potential for walking, picnics, horse riding and cycling is endless.

Wine tasting :

We are central to the 60 or so wine domains that comprise the famous Gaillac wine. You will have fun visiting them as they are very often open to the public and you are welcome to taste and buy their wines. In Gaillac there is a wine information center which is part of the tourist office.

Canoes or kayaks :

The river Tarn and river Avyron provide very good canoeing possibilities and there are plenty of companies which provide a complete service to ensure you have a fun time.

Tarn river valley :

Byond Albi the Tarn river flows through some beautiful countryside and the road follows the river most of the way. A day out driving along the valley is one of our favorite pastimes and there is a very good country restaurant that we always visit. The road which follows the river is built on an old railway line and offers fine views of the river.

Horse riding :

Close by we have an equestrian center, and horses can be available on an hourly or daily basis. Outings can be arranged with a guide through the vineyards and forests.

Golf :

Near Albi you will find the magnificent 18 hole Lasbordes golf club with a beautiful 18th century chateaux for its clubhouse. Lasbordes is situated within a large bend in the river Tarn and is open to the public. All necessary equipment is available for rent.

Toulouse-Lautrec museum :

This is always a popular destination for our guests, and a must-do for all art lovers, as there is a very good collection of Toulouse-Lautrec's work on display. The museum right in the center of Albi next to La Cathédrale Ste-Cé
