8-person holiday home in Corcy in the protected region "Fôret de Retz"

Our beautiful French-style holiday home for 8 people is located in a former castle garden on the edge of the village of Corcy. The protected green landscape, called Forêts de Retz, is wooded and the open spaces are home to medieval villages. The area is known for many medieval churches, castles, farms and water mills.

The house is located in a large park-like enclosed garden of approximately 3000 m2 with beautiful views over Corcy. This garden is surrounded by hedges, trees and shrubs with a lawn in the middle, providing maximum privacy. The comfortable holiday home exudes a typical French atmosphere and is furnished with farmhouse country furniture. The house has a large south-facing terrace with teak garden furniture, a large parasol and a stone barbecue. The house has a large fireplace with sufficient fuel wood. Various natural stone walls in the garden remind us of a castle that once stood here.

Corcy, together with several other farming villages, is part of the larger town of Villers-Cotterêts, a small lively town for your daily shopping. In medieval Corcy you will find a Gothic church, old houses, an old wash house, an old well and much more. The river Savières runs straight through Corcy and there is also a large fishing pond on the edge of the village. This area is ideally suited for long walks or bike rides. The bicycles are already waiting for you in the garage of the house. But you should definitely also drive from village to village via winding country roads through the undulating landscape to be surprised by all the medieval things that this specific area has to offer.

GROUND FLOOR........A double wooden gate gives access to the house with its large garden. At street level there is a large garage with cellar space. One level higher, adjacent to the backyard, the actual house is located entirely on the ground floor. 

SITTING AREA.........There is a comfortable seating area centered around a large fireplace. In addition, the house is heated by centrally controlled electric heating. There is a TV with satellite reception and a DVD player. There is also WiFi in the house, this is a stable, fast and unlimited internet connection from Orange France.

DINING AREA WITH TERRACE........At the back there is a beautiful dining area with patio doors leading to a south-facing outdoor terrace. Teak garden furniture, a large parasol and a stone barbecue complete the picture.

KITCHEN........A comfortable kitchen with panel doors in bronze-green color is open to the dining area. This kitchen is fully equipped with built-in appliances and small electrical appliances are also present.

BEDROOMS........A long corridor gives access to the bathroom, toilet, three bedrooms and the staircase to the basement with fourth bedroom, storage room and garage. The bathroom has a sink and triangular bath and each bedroom has a double bed with pillows and duvets.

GARAGE........There is also a digital washing machine and condenser dryer and the bicycles are waiting for you in the garage.

CORCY........Corcy is beautifully situated in a green valley through which the river La Savières runs. on the edge of the village there is a fishing pond and a riding school for horse lovers. Dominant is the Gothic church from the 15th century in the center of the village. The old washing place, the old well and the old houses give Corcy a medieval character.

LONGPONT........The town of Longpont is 2 km away with a medieval entrance gate, old abbey with old chapel in a beautiful large garden with ponds and an old wash house. There are also a few restaurants with a terrace in Longpont. Just outside Longpont you will find another colossal farmhouse from the 16th century with Gothic features. Homemade regional products are for sale here.

FORÊTS DE RETZ........Not only Longpont, but every village in the open plains of Forêts de Retz is a medieval surprise. You go from one surprise to another. An area with many castles, castle farms, large farms with pigeon towers, Romanesque and Gothic churches, old wash houses, wells, wind and water mills, field crosses and so on. The villages and forests here are protected for good reason, it is wonderful to walk and cycle here.

VILLERS-COTTERÊTS........The small town of Villers-Cotterêts is 8 km from the holiday home, where you can do your daily shopping. There is also a beautiful castle here in the center. Every Thursday there is a weekly market in the center with more than eighty stalls. There is also a swimming pool with an indoor and outdoor section. Villers-Cotterêts is known because the famous French writer Alexandre Dumas, who lived here.

LA FERTË MILON........La Ferté Milon is 12 km away, a medieval site with a castle, water mill, picnic area with playground and boat trips on the Oercq River towards Paris.

PIERRE FUND........Pierrefonds is a little further away, a tourist town with a mighty castle, a large pond with pedal boats, a playground, cafes, restaurants and various terraces with specialties from the area. And while you are there, you should definitely visit the enormous, beautiful medieval village of Saint-Jean-aux-Bois, which is 5 km away.

PARIS........The other special thing about this beautiful area is the major metropolis of Paris, just a stone's throw from the holiday home. To be precise, about 45 km between Corcy and the suburbs of Paris. The brand new TER trains with their pointed noses flash back and forth between these two worlds. You will arrive comfortably in the center of Paris and continue to enjoy this beautiful metropolis that you will never get tired of.

DISNEYLAND PARIS........Disneyland Paris and Parc Astérix are also not far from the holiday home.
