Le Derroc is situated in the beautiful village of Cotignac. Cotignac received in November of 2022 the official label of "Most beautiful village in France"
My home lies in a peaceful dead end road barely 15 minutes walking from the center of the village, on a 5000m2 piece of land surrounded by wood and olive trees, where I yearly produce my own olive oil. Half the ground is even and the rest is divided in different terrasses (restanques).
The private swimming pool is 8 x4 and has an easy entry to get in and out of the pool. It is close to the house itself so you can keep an eye at all times. The swimming pool can be heated outside the summer period. The house is surrounded by a 100m2 terrace which is partly covered. On the terrace is a big modern design glass table of 3m which can be even further extended to 3.5m.
In front of the house is a big parking space where several cars can be parked. The house is very private with no visible houses in the neighbourhood.
It is a modern decorated house. At the entrance you arrive directly in the living area. The high open space is divided in three areas - dining area, kitchen area,, and seating area. The kitchen is completely installed - there are three different types of coffee machines, Senseo Nespresso and normal coffee machine. In the hall is a built in closet and a toilet. Via an easy staircase, you arrive at the open mezzanine. There are two seats which can be converted into 2 single beds for the occasional visitor, or you can use this area if you would like a little privacy with a good book. Adjacent is the master bedroom with own bathroom and separate toilet. A double queen size bed and an additional futon, a big window with view to the swimming pool. On the second floor there are two additional bedrooms, one with another queen size bed, and the third bedroom with two single beds which can be put together into one king size bed. In between is a second bathroom with toilet. The three bedrooms have reversible airco. There are plenty of children and baby toys. There is also a guitar which can be provided on demand if you can play the guitar. Bedlinen and towels are free.
Cotignac is one of the prettiest and idyllic villages in the Provence. The village is best known for ts famous rock, the Rocher de. Cotignac. The old village center has completely been built against the 400meter high rock which looks very impressive. The open air theatre was carved out of the rock. Each summer there is a music and film festival as well as the Toiles du Sud, with weekly latest films on the outside. If you like wine tasting, Cotignac is also perfect for you. The village is right on the wine route of the Provence. Tuesday is the famous market day and the village is also known for its many good restaurants.with terrace.
