Les Palmiers is a spacious villa with panoramic views of the Ardèche valley. The large swimming pool (10 x 4.5 m, salt-electrolysis) is surrounded by marble terraces and a green garden with, indeed, several types of palm trees. Plenty of comfortable and attractive seating and lounge chairs (not plastic). You will find shelter from the bright southern French sun under large awnings and parasols, and a lovely gazebo with Greek columns.

In the house you are assured of coolness due to the good insulation, the Provencal shutters and, above all, the air conditioning in all rooms. The house is also equipped with all amenities: internet (Wifi), TV with Dutch, Flemish and French channels, DVD, CD player, books and games.

You won't miss anything in the kitchen: induction hob, combination oven/microwave, dishwasher, refrigerator and freezer, filter coffee and Nespresso machine, etc. If you wish, you can do the laundry, there is a washing machine and a dryer.

There are 4 spacious bedrooms, 3 with 2 single beds (box springs 80x200 cm), 1 with a double bed (Auping, 2 mattresses 80x200 cm). All rooms with wardrobe and air conditioning, some with seating. There is also a large loggia on the first floor, with seating and a wonderful view. For small children there is a stair gate, children's (camping) bed and high chair in the house. 2 complete bathrooms, with sink and toilet, one with shower, one with bath (and shower).

The great attraction of the region is the Ardèche river itself, with its beautiful "gorges" (gorges) and its "Pont d'Arc", a bridge carved by the river over millions of years. A canoe trip on the river with its rapids is an experience, but we can also recommend a trip by car past the various viewpoints. Of course you can take a bath in many places in the Ardèche, you will even find a beach where you can swim a few minutes' walk from your holiday home. The region lends itself to more sports: horse riding, climbing courses in the trees and in the mountains, caving, fishing, walking and cycling: the hilly terrain is challenging, and, for the brave: Mont Ventoux is not far!

Vallon-Pont-d'Arc is a nice tourist town.  There is the weekly market on Thursday, and a night market on Tuesday. Although busy, it is always possible to get a seat on one of the terraces or in one of the numerous restaurants. Many villages in the region also have weekly markets, others offer a medieval center worth seeing: Voguë, Balazuc, Labeaume, Aiguèze: "les plus beaux villages de France".

The art cities of Provençe are a 1.5 to 2 hour drive away: Orange, Avignon, Aix-en-Provençe, Nimes.

Much closer, even to your own holiday resort, a unique World Heritage Site (Unesco): the "Cave of Chauvet"! This cave was discovered in 1995, and turned out to contain incredibly beautiful rock paintings, by far the oldest ever in Europe, twice as old as those in Lascaux, and in our opinion, even more beautiful! 36,000 years before Christ, Cromagnon man depicted the animals that walked around here: horses, lions, cave bears, rhinos, mammoths, giant deer, etc. See  

Back to your holiday home: it is part of the Domaine les Rives de l'Ardèche holiday park. The park offers numerous facilities: Tennis courts, basketball, jeu de boules, everything at your disposal for free. A large communal swimming pool, with a separate area for the little ones, and all kinds of play equipment for them. You can order snacks or a drink there. It is never very busy, because most villas have their own swimming pool, but it is cozy, and young people like to meet there. There is a bread service and you can order grilled chicken or pizza once a week. You can also book canoes there for the trip on the Ardèche, or bicycles (electric, mountain bike, etc.)
