Le Chêne Truffier

Le Chêne Truffier is named after the truffle oaks that are abundant in the area. Our house with swimming pool is suitable for 6 people. It is located in the southern Drôme, just outside the village of La Baume de Transit, on a plot of 8,000 m².

From the various terraces you have a beautiful view of the vineyard and truffle oaks. The house was built in the 1970s by a Parisian architect and later expanded.

The house is located on a large plot of 8,000 m2 with many trees for shade, various terraces and a view of a vineyard.

The house is bordered by three terraces with spacious dining tables; one by the living room, a covered terrace next to the house and a third terrace located under the trees next to the house, so that a perfect spot can always be found.

About 30 meters from the house is a large (private) swimming pool (12m x 5m and 2.40m deep, sloping), surrounded by hedges and closed off by an inconspicuous fence. There is a second covered terrace at this pool.

Around the house are various seating areas and fields to play. Behind the house is a rock formation from which there is a beautiful view of the area, including a view of the Mont Ventoux and the Dentelles de Montmirail.

The large Z-shaped room with wood stove, spacious sitting area, large 10-person dining table, TV with DVD player and satellite connection (including Dutch channels) and a radio/CD player. The first terrace is accessible through patio doors with a 6-person dining table on it.

The kitchen is fully equipped; 6-burner gas stove, convection oven, microwave, dishwasher, refrigerator with separate freezer, food processor and a wide range of other kitchen utensils.

The utility room is accessible from the kitchen with an extra refrigerator and washing machine.

The three bedrooms each have room for two people. The large bedroom has a double bed and patio doors to the outside. The other two bedrooms have two single beds that can also be placed apart.

There are two bathrooms, each with a (walk-in) shower and sink. There are two separate toilets. The house has WIFI that also has partial coverage on the terraces.

There is a safe. Pets are unfortunately not welcome, smoking is not permitted indoors.

The beautiful wooded area, interspersed with vineyards and lavender fields, offers many good opportunities for walking and cycling. The village, La Baume-de-Transit, is a 10-minute walk away, where you will find a bakery, small grocery store, bar and restaurant with terrace. There is a small market every Thursday. 

In the area there are several small villages and the town of Saint Paul Trois Chateaux 8 km away is a pleasant place with a regional function, terraces and many shops.

At 25 km away are places such as Nyons (large market), Vaison la Romaine, Orange. At 35 km away Montélimar and 65 km Avignon.

The area is characterised by vineyards, lavender fields, olive trees and truffle oaks.
