Domaine Maurel

Domaine Maurel, a former wine estate, is beautifully situated in the middle of the rolling landscape of the Aude with a variety of sunflower & grain fields and vineyards. The domain offers 2 gîtes for rent, each very quietly located in a separate wing of the long farmhouse, at the end of a dead end road with beautiful 360° views, up to the Pyrenees from within the south-facing gîte and up to the Montagne Noir from within the north-facing gîte.

Gîte A'muse: up to 3 people (+2 children)
The former wine picker's house, functionally renovated, located on the south side of the long facade building and with direct views to the southern Pyrenees. This holiday home consists of a ground floor with seating area, fully equipped kitchen with dining area and an upper floor with bedroom and bathroom with walk-in shower, double sink and toilet. The patio doors open to a south facing terrace with its own garden furniture. Air conditioning is available in this gîte.

Gîte B'loft: up to 6 people
A stylish industrially renovated loft, located on the 1st floor at the north side of the long facade building. This gîte consists of a very large living space with open, abundantly equipped kitchen with kitchen island. It has 2 double bedrooms and a double sofa bed, and 2 bathrooms (one of which 'en suite'), both with walk-in shower, sink and toilet. Directly adjacent to the loft there's a private, closable private terrace, partly covered and equipped with its own garden furniture.

Both gîtes are strictly non-smoking. Although the owners love animals, pets are allowed. As a guest, you have the duty of a good and prudent householder, meaning you're expected to take good care of the holiday spaces and leave a tidy home after your holiday. The owners will be present themselves or will delegate an English-speaking replacement upon your arrival and departure.

The holiday homes are rented from the beginning of April through the beginning of November and per week, from Saturday to Saturday (arrival as from 18h, departure up until 10h). The owners will do their utmost to have your holiday home available as soon as possible and will send a message should that be before 18h. You are kindly asked to send them your expected time of arrival the day before, by email or message.

(All prices include bed & bath linen (pool towels to bring yourselves), utilities and final cleaning, exclude guarantee deposit & tourist tax, to be paid:
30% upon booking (as booking confirmation) &
70% at least 2 months before arrival date

Gîte A'muse

Tourist tax
Depending on occupancy, with a maximum of 1,90€ per adult per night (children exempt).

Gîte A'muse (5-person, max. 3 adults & 2 children)
On the ground floor there's a seating area with radio & TV with DVD player, an open, modern & fully equipped kitchen with induction hob, microwave, dishwasher, fridge with freezer and a dining area. If desired, an air conditioning provides cooling/heating. French doors give access to the south-faciting terrace.
On the 1st floor there's a spacious bedroom with a double and a single bed. Next to the bedroom is a modern bathroom with double washbasin, walk-in rain shower, toilet and towel dryer. If desired, heating is available in the bedroom and bathroom.
An easily transformable sofa bed (no bed linen moving etc.) offers extra sleeping place for 2 children in the living area.

Gîte B'loft (6-person)
This gîte offers a large living room with lounge, radio & television, an open, modern, abundantly furnished and equipped kitchen with induction hob, combi oven, dishwasher, large fridge & freezer and a dining area. The 'loft' has 2 double bedrooms and 2 bathrooms (one of which is 'en-suite') each with a walk-in rain shower, sink and toilet.
An easily transformable sofa bed (no bed linen moving etc.) offers extra sleeping place for 2 people in the living area.
This gîte has its own private (closable) terrace, partly covered, with its own garden furniture.

Both 'gîtes' have wireless internet (Wi-Fi).

Domaine Maurel is located in Ferran, a small, very quiet village with about 100 inhabitants in the heart of the Cathar region, less than half an hour drive from the medieval city of Carcassonne, with its walled old town.

Although the domain is extremely quietly situated at the end of a dead end road, it is easily accessible, just 15 km from the highway.

In the nearby and wider surroundings, as an ideal variety on the complete tranquillity at Domaine Maurel itself, there's a wide range of cultural and sporting activities, within reasonable driving distance in a region between coast and mountains.
