La Maison Forestière offers you a unique opportunity to escape the hustle and bustle and enjoy the serene and beautiful surroundings of France. Whether you are looking for relaxation, adventure or culture, you will find it all here.
Located in the Calvados, Pays d'Auge.
In the middle of the forest, surrounded by 1.5 hectares of nature, home to countless birds, deer, badgers, foxes, squirrels and much more, a walking path runs through the private grounds further into the forest and provides access to adventurous walking or mountain biking routes.
A 3-centuries-old Calvados Longère, but equipped with all amenities, fully furnished for a carefree holiday.
The house is very suitable for up to 2 adults and offers a stylish place with peace and space with lots of light, in the middle of the 'Val Sery', a small valley in Calvados, far from the stress of mass tourism, but with WiFi , Internet and TV via fiber optic (fast connection).
Upon entering the house through a centuries-old door, you will find the cozy dining room with original beamed ceiling, where there is a wood-burning stove in a historic stone mantelpiece, dining table with chairs, various cupboards.
From the dining room you can go to the well-equipped kitchen, where you will find the dishwasher and washing machine, but also a refrigerator and freezer, combi oven, coffee machine (regular and Senseo), kettle, pans, stove (halogen), and much more.
The kitchen has a countertop made of tomettes (stone French tiles) and has an original ceramic sink.
There is also access to an extra (small) room via a staircase down, for example for suitcases, shoes, boots, coats, etc.
Through the dining room you can also go to the shower room with toilet, shower, sink.
This used to be a small stable and therefore has a low door.
From the dining room you go through a carved archway to a special corridor with wooden beams, where the bedroom is located and access to the living room.
The bedroom has a comfortable double bed (separate mattresses extra long), and cupboards. You can look straight out into the garden from the bedroom through the French windows.
The living room can be reached via the same hallway via a step, (again with beamed ceiling) and has a cozy sitting area with sofa, chairs, cupboards, TV and a beautiful fireplace with wood-burning stove.
A small door provides access to the outside via a staircase, but actually serves as a window.
This living area used to house the calvados boilers, and is partly sunk into the ground. The windows are therefore flush with the garden surface.
There is an original stone floor of tomettes throughout the house.
In the evening deer, foxes, ermines and badgers come close to the house.
You will regularly hear deer, deer and owls.
During the day many birds (more than 20 species, including the hoopoe!), bees, butterflies, squirrels.
Walk through the nature around the house and in the forest and discover many native flowers and plants. Often on the red list! (So rare)
There is a small body of water in our own valley, the Douet.
As a result, beautiful blue dragonflies and other special water insects can also be seen.
Pick some wild water mint!
