Fount Estremiero

The house, located in a dead-end alley and adjacent to the expansive forests of Montagne Noire, dates back to 1873 and has undergone a thorough renovation in recent years while respecting its history.

The estate is named after the spring, Fount Estremiero, Occitan for hidden spring.

The house has 4 rooms and 4 bathrooms, some with a bathtub and rain shower, others with a double rain shower. There is a kitchen and a utility room with a Falcon cooking stove, Aga fridge, dishwasher, freezer, and microwave.

Additionally, there is also an apartment suitable for 4 people. The apartment has 2 rooms, 1 with a bunk bed and 1 with a double bed, a bathroom with a sink, rain shower, and bathtub, a kitchen with a combination oven, dishwasher, and stove, and a living area with a dining table and 2 sofas that can also be used as sofa beds. The apartment has a private entrance and a spacious terrace.

The house and the apartment are always rented together to ensure privacy.

Outside, you'll find a 12 x 5 meter pool with spring water and salt, a jacuzzi, Turkish steam bath, and sauna, as well as an outdoor shower and cold plunge pool.

There are various hiking possibilities from the house, and on the estate itself, you'll find a ping-pong table, foosball table, pétanque court, and more.

Both inside and outside, everything is focused on tranquility and well-being, a place to rejuvenate in this oasis of peace and silence.

The house was completely renovated while preserving the original materials and authenticity. The wooden ceilings, wooden beams, and thick stone walls were all retained. Where new parquet and doors were installed, chestnut wood from the surrounding forests was used.

The house was stylishly furnished with an eye for detail and finishing. The walls were finished with Italian plasterwork throughout, and the bathrooms were adorned with zellige tiles.

The original fireplaces were preserved, and a stove was added in the downstairs lounge for additional warmth.

In the nearby area, you will find the caves of 'Gouffre de Cabrespine', truly spectacular and listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site. The ancient city of Carcassonne is also on the UNESCO World Heritage list and is a must-see, especially with children.

There are several hiking and biking opportunities, with various trails starting right from the house.

The region is known for its rich history of the Cathars. As a result, there are several castles, fortresses, and abbeys to visit that are worth exploring. In Villeneuve, you'll find a truffle museum, and in Mazamet, you can walk across a long suspension bridge to the medieval town of Hautpoul.

The Pays d'Oc is a well-known wine region, and you can easily take a car trip from vineyard to vineyard.

Within an hour's drive, you can reach the sea in Narbonne, and visiting the towns of Albi and Castres also makes for enjoyable outings.
