The Causses du Quercy encompass precious natural areas, rich in diverse flora and fauna, recognized by the Regional Natural Park label. Must-sees include significant cultural sites such as Padirac and its exceptional chasm, the Cloup d’Aural Phosphate Mines, and the major sites of Rocamadour and Saint-Cirq-Lapopie. Figeac, a superb medieval town, and its Champollion Museum of World Writing, are 25 km away. Cahors, the capital of the Lot department, blends a southern atmosphere, historical richness, and culinary delights. Not to mention the exceptional villages such as Carennac, Loubressac, Autoire, Saint-Cirq-Lapopie, Capdenac-le-Haut, and Cardaillac, which have been awarded the title of "Most Beautiful Villages of France," and many others that are well worth a visit and that you can discover throughout your stay.
Outdoor activities abound, and nature lovers will be in their element: swimming in the clear waters of the Célé River, hiking or horseback riding, cycling or mountain biking, canoeing, kayaking, waterskiing, climbing, discovering the Lot Valley by hot air balloon or microlight, cruises on the Lot River… And there are plenty of activities for families to enjoy.
The Lot is a land of bounty and culinary delights, with its flocks of sheep with their distinctive black markings, its fine cheeses, its characterful wines, its black diamond—the truffle—its spice—more expensive than caviar—its honey-flavored melons, and its walnuts, which are used to make kernels, oil, wine, liqueurs, and delectable cakes.
Your senses won't be on vacation either; they'll be in for a treat at our charming markets shaded by plane trees.
We also have some great places to eat for you, by the water, on the farm, picturesque, unusual, gastronomic, all your tastes are in the nature of the Lot.
