Domaine Maurel, a former wine estate, is beautifully situated in the middle of the rolling landscape of the Aude with a variety of sunflower & grain fields and vineyards. The domain offers 2 holiday homes, each very quietly located in a separate wing of the long farmhouse, at the end of a dead end road with beautiful 360° views, up to the southern Pyrenees and the northern Montagne Noir.

Gîte A'muse (for 2 to 5 people, being max. 4 adults or up to 3 adults + 2 children) is the former wine picker's house, functionally renovated, located on the south side of the long farmhouse offering direct views to the southern Pyrenees. The holiday home consists of a ground floor with living area and fully equipped kitchen corner with dining area, and an upper floor with bedroom and bathroom with walk-in shower, double sink and toilet. The patio doors open to a south facing terrace with its own garden furniture. Air conditioning is available in this holiday home.

Gîte B'loft (for 4 to 6 people) is a stylish, industrially renovated loft, located on the floor above the former wine 'cuves' at the more shady north side of the long farmhouse offering direct views to the northern 'Black Mountain'. The holiday home consists of a very large living space with open, abundantly equipped kitchen with cooking island. It has 2 double bedrooms and a double sofa bed, and 2 bathrooms (one of which 'en suite'), both with walk-in shower, sink and toilet. Directly adjacent to the loft there's a private, (childproof) closable private terrace, partly covered and equipped with its own garden furniture.

The holiday homes are rented per week, from Saturday (arrival as from 6 pm) to Saturday (departure until 10 am). The day before arrival, you are kindly asked to send your expected arrival time by email/message. If wanted, a message can be delivered in case the reserved holiday home would become available earlier than 6 pm.

Both holiday homes are completely & strictly non-smoking.
Although the owners themselves are real animal lovers, pets unfortunately cannot be allowed in the holiday homes.

- include bed & bath linen (pool towels to be foreseen by yourselves), utilities including internet & final cleaning,
- exclude guarantee deposit (to be paid at arrival) & tourist tax (deducted from deposit)

30% upon booking (as booking confirmation) &
70% at least 2 months before arrival date.

Gîte A'muse (south side, for 2 to 5 people, being max. 4 adults or up to 3 adults + 2 children)
On the ground floor there's a living area with radio & TV with DVD player, an open, modern & fully equipped kitchen with induction hob, microwave, dishwasher, fridge with freezer and a dining area. If desired, an air conditioning provides cooling/heating. French doors give access to the south-faciting terrace.
On the 1st floor there's a spacious bedroom with a double and a single bed. Next to the bedroom is a modern bathroom with double washbasin, walk-in rain shower, toilet and towel dryer. If desired, heating is available in the bedroom and bathroom.
An easily transformable sofa bed (no bed linen to move etc.) offers extra sleeping for 2 children in the living area.
This gîte has an open terrace on the ground floor with its own garden furniture.

Gîte B'loft (north side, for 4 to 6 people)
This gîte offers a large living room with lounge, radio & television, an open, modern, abundantly furnished and equipped kitchen with induction hob, combi oven, dishwasher, large fridge & freezer and a dining area. The 'loft' has 2 double bedrooms and 2 bathrooms (one of which is 'en-suite') each with a walk-in rain shower, sink and toilet.
An easily transformable sofa bed (no bed linen to move etc.) offers extra sleeping for 2 people in the living area.
This gîte has its own private (childproof closable) terrace, partly covered, with its own garden furniture.

Both 'gîtes' have wireless internet (Wi-Fi).

Domaine Maurel is located in Ferran, a small, very quiet village in the Aude region with about 100 inhabitants, in the heart of the Cathar region, ideally situated between coast & mountains and less than half an hour drive from the medieval city of Carcassonne, with its walled old town.

Although the domain is extremely quietly situated at the end of a dead end road, it is easily accessible, just 15 km from the highway.

In the nearby and wider surroundings, as an ideal variety on the complete tranquillity at Domaine Maurel itself and within reasonable distances, there's a wide range of cultural and sporting activities.
